Memorial for Christina Smith

Talofa lava,

The School Board and Leadership Team wish to inform our community of the arrangements to celebrate the life of our much-loved colleague, Mrs Christina (Tina) Smith. Tina was truly incredible, deeply loved by all who knew her, and made a profound, positive impact on the lives of so many at our school and in the wider education community.

We acknowledge Tina's deep connection and selfless service to our kura, the Kelston community, and the profound sadness felt by students, staff members, and whānau at this time.

Out of respect for Tina and to allow our community to gather for a service at the school, we will be closing the school for the day this Wednesday 3 December.

Celebration of Mrs Christina (Tina) Smith (née Mose):

  • Date & Time: Wednesday, 3rd December, 10:00 am (Please be seated by 9:45 am)

  • Venue: The Kelston Girls’ College School Hall

This event will allow our students, staff, and community members to gather and collectively pay tribute to Tina's exceptional spirit and service. We warmly invite all members of our community to join us on Wednesday morning for this time of tribute and loving remembrance.

Tina’s funeral will take place on Friday, 5 December at the Glen Eden Presbyterian Church, 19 West Coast Rd, Glen Eden at 10am.

We ask that all parents and caregivers make alternative arrangements for Year 9 and 10 students on Wednesday 3rd December. School will continue as usual on Thursday, 4th December and Friday, 5th December.

We thank you for your understanding and support for the family and our school community during this time of great loss.

Ma le fa’aaloalo lava,
