In the last three years of high school students work towards achieving their NCEA - National Certificate of Educational Achievement. This generally starts around 16 years of age. NCEA prepares students for study at university level. Assessment takes place through assignments and also examinations held at the end of the year. International students may choose to study at a lower year level while they build their English language skills.
There are a wide variety of extracurricular opportunities for students to take part in which include sports, cultural performance groups, leadership groups, environmental groups, service groups and performing arts.
Kelston Girls’ College has several award-winning cultural groups who participate in Polyfest each year. Our Environmental committee take part in regular adventures in the local area including night sky viewing and forest walking.
Our sports teams consistently outperform across several sporting codes. Students will have opportunities to join sports teams including:

Kelston Girls’ College is based in the vibrant city of Auckland in the North Island of New Zealand. Auckland is the largest city in New Zealand and is a multi-cultural and safe city where people from many diverse backgrounds live peacefully. There are lots of fun and exciting activities to do in Auckland including sporting and cultural events, museums, theatre and art galleries and many wonderful beaches and natural environments such as forests and islands to visit.
Kelston Girls’ College is a short walk from the nearest train station which allows students the freedom to explore the city on their weekends. We are also on the doorstep of the Waitakere Ranges and the wild, beautiful beaches of the West Coast allowing students the chance to experience the nature that New Zealand is famous for.
Kelston Girls College accepts applications for both short and long-term study from international students aged between 13 - 19 years old.

Step 1: Students and agents should send an email enquiry through to the International Department at international@kelstongirls.school.nz
Step 2: Our Director of International Students will be in touch to discuss your requirements
Step 3: Submit an application form including the following information:
Latest two school reports
Handwritten introduction letter from the student (family, interests, goals and aspirations for your study at Kelston Girls’ College)
Photo
Vaccination Certificate
Birth Certificate and Passport copies
Insurance policy details including English Translation
Step 4: A provisional offer of place and invoice will be issued
Step 5: Student obtains visa

Step 6: A confirmed offer of place will be issued
Step 7: Long term students will be asked to attend an online interview with the Director of International Students
Step 8: Select your subjects and prepare to start school

Homestay for students at Kelston Girls’ College is organised by Homestay Auckland. Students will be carefully placed with friendly and welcoming families in the local area.
