English Teacher - 2026

We are seeking a passionate and collaborative English teacher to join our English pathway. The ideal candidate is an effective educator who is committed to putting the learner at the center of their practice, upholding the mana of everyone in our school community and nurturing the vā.

This is a multi-faceted role for a teacher committed to creating engaging and culturally sustaining learning experiences. As a member of our teaching staff, you will be involved in integrated cross-curricular learning and have dedicated time for academic mentoring. Our core work is underpinned by our commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, our partnership with Te Kawerau ā Maki as mana whenua, and the principles of restorative practice.

Te Wheke Bilingual Learning Navigators 

Te Wheke, the Kelston Girls’ College’s bilingual pathway, is looking for enthusiastic and digitally competent bilingual learning navigators to join their team. 

At Kelston Girls’ College, our vision is to create culturally connected ākonga with the mōhiotanga to be agents of change.  We do this by supporting our students, and empowering them as confident future-focused lifelong learners.

Our ideal candidate for this role will be:

  • Fluent in either Te Reo Māori, Samoan, or Tongan language

  • Confident in using digital approaches to learning

  • Capable of expanding the digital fluency of students

  • Able to support our students with translation support

  • A collaborative member of our staff

The hours for this role will be confirmed on application and is term time only.  These roles fall under the B-C pay scale of the Support Staff in Schools Collective Agreement.  The successful applicant will be required to undergo satisfactory police vetting.

Learning Navigator (Permanent/Part Time)

Kelston Girls’ College is looking for enthusiastic and digitally competent Learning Navigators to join our team.

  • You understand and honour the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and have the ability to work in a culturally informed way in our diverse kura

  • You are passionate about learning outcomes 

  • You will have a highly collaborative working style

  • You are able to communicate effectively and professionally

  • You are confident in using digital approaches to learning and capable of expanding the digital fluency of our students

  • You are able to support our students with some translation support

This is a permanent position for 15.8 hours per week, during term time only. Remuneration will be commensurate with experience.
