Important Dates for Week 16 & 17


Kia ora whānau,

Hope you are keeping warm and healthy as the weather shifts and settles in.  We are experiencing a slightly higher number of winter illnesses creeping in, but are doing our best to manage this onsite, and keep our ākonga updated through Google Classroom if they are at home sick or recovering.

The end of Trimester 1 is upon us, and we have an action-packed fortnight ahead for our ākonga and whānau! 

It is essential all students attend school as normal as all these activities are part of our regular teaching and learning program.

Monday 27 May

Tautua i le alofa, manuia le lumana’i

Serve in love for a blessed future

  • Samoan Language Week (Vaiaso o le Gagana Samoa) 

  • Junior students will kick off Samoan Language Week with an assembly 

  • NZQA Numeracy Common Assessment Activity for all Year 11, 12 and 13 Students who are yet to achieve these credits

Tuesday 28 May

  • NZQA Literacy (Writing/Reading) Common Assessment Activity for Year 11, 12 and 13 Students who are yet to achieve these credits

Wednesday 29 May

  • Our Annual Careers Out West expo is being held at the Trusts Arena.  

  • Senior students will be attending Careers Out West during the school day.  

  • The expo is open between 3:30pm-6:30pm for all whānau to attend.

  • Junior students - In school Careers day

Thursday 30 May

  • Kelston Girls’ College Learning Showcase - come along and experience the learning your ākonga have been doing this Trimester!  

  • All whānau welcome from 11am until 3:10pm. 

  • Trimester 1 Progress Reports will be released.

Friday 31 May 

  • Teacher Only Day - school is closed for instruction. 

Monday 3 June

  • King’s Birthday public holiday - school is closed for instruction.

Tuesday 4 June 

  • Start of Trimester 2 

  • Please encourage your students to log in to School Bridge and check their new timetable before starting Trimester 2. 

  • Please refer to their Kaimanaaki if there are any blank slots. 

All usual winter sporting fixtures are still in place during this busy time for our kura.  If you have any queries about sporting fixtures, please contact our Sports Coordinator by email t.taealii@kelstongirls.school.nz
