Due to the disruption that COVID-19 has caused, the following changes have been made to allow you more preparation time for upcoming major exams and some assessments.

FROM NZQA & MINISTRY OF EDUCATION:

END OF YEAR EXAMS:

End of year NCEA and NZ Scholarship exams will now run from: Monday 22 November until Tuesday 14 December. This is 2 weeks later than originally planned by NZQA. The new timetable can be found here

Due dates for Art portfolio submissions will also be pushed back by 2 weeks. The new submission dates will be communicated by Ms Bailes and Ms Eveleigh directly to you.

MCAT (MATHEMATICS COMMON ASSESSMENT TASK):

The following change of dates for those of you who were due to sit the MCAT exam is now on either Tuesday 28 September OR  Thursday 30 September. Your Maths teacher will inform you directly which date you will sit the assessment.

DigiCATs  (DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES & HANGARAU MATIHIKO COMMON ASSESSMENT TASKS):

Remain 20 September - 1 October and 18 - 27 October.

OTHER IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE:

  • Be aware that the Ministry of Education & NZQA are continuously keeping us informed of any changes that will affect you or your assessments.  They will update us as we will also update you, about your learning and assessments under Alert Levels 3 and 4, while you are at home, or when you return to class.

  • As usual, if COVID-19 - or something else beyond your control - means that you are unable to sit your end of year exams, please be reassured that we do have things in place to help you at every step.

So what does this mean for you:

  • Make contact with your Whanau teacher/Subject Teacher/Dean either through Google Classroom/Google Meet/Email/Text message.

  • If you do not have access to a chromebook/laptop, find a way to contact your Whanau teacher/Subject teacher/Dean and let them know urgently. Use this form if you are able to: Student Device Report Google Form

  • If it's subject related help you need with assessments etc, do not be afraid to contact your subject teacher and talk to them about assessments you are concerned about. It is not too late.

  • Reach out to any of the above including Mrs Lal for any other matters of concern to you. Everyone is there to help you with whatever you need.

  • Above all, be kind to yourself, ask for help when you need it.

All of the above information and any other notices, please always check our school website and social media platform.

Take care and stay safe
