The principals and boards of schools in the Kelston area are exploring a Learning Village concept, and are currently gathering community feedback on this concept. The schools involved are Kelston Primary School, St. Leonards Primary school, Kelston Intermediate School, Kelston Girls’ College, Kelston Boys’ High School and Kelston Deaf Education Centre.
In this concept, schools would collaborate on a shared Kelston Learning Village in which the intermediate school and secondary schools could co-locate on a single shared site, and would work closely with the primary schools.
Please follow this link to get more information and participate in a survey which will give you an opportunity to comment on this concept, and be in to win a supermarket or movie voucher:
Computers to complete the survey as well as paper copies of the survey will be available here at Kelston Girls’. These will be stationed around our school during our Te Huinga Whanau days on 6 and 7 August. There will also be staff available to talk through the concept. Paper copies of the survey will be available at the reception until the survey closing date of 6 September. You are welcome to come in to reception and complete the survey electronically or on paper if that suits you.
Further to this a face-to-face community hui relating to this concept will be scheduled for early September, and more information on this will be available closer to the time.
