Supporting the Rugby World Cup

There are several events planned to help celebrate the Rugby World Cup.

On Friday 9th September:

-          Staff were asked to come dressed in the colour of the country they were supporting or in their cultural dress.

-          The staff morning tea had a Rugby World Cup theme.

-          At lunch time there were several Rugby activities : conversion, line-out and player impersonation.

-          The finale for the day was an amazing haka performed by students.

RESULTS

 1.       The goal kicking –

·         This was scored as 3 for a goal over the goal post, 2 for kicking it over the goal line & 1 for a try at kicking.

·         The style exhibited & crowd appreciation was also scored out of 3.

·         Total kicking score = 6 points per kicker.

·         10 staff kicked with a total of 37 points = 3.7 per kicker.

·         4 students kicked with a total of 15 points = 3.75 per kicker.

·         Students just won!

2. Lineout –

·         Students won 2 line-outs outright.

·         Staff one line-out outright, plus one by kicking the ball out.

·         Score – Students = 2, Staff = 1.5.
